Stuttgart Airport (STR) is situated 13 km / 8 miles south of the city of Stuttgart on a 390-hectare site. The airport is well served by domestic and international flights, with over 400 daily aircraft movements, and serves over nine million passengers annually.

There are all the facilities associated with a modern international airport including shops, restaurants, banks, ATMs and a business and conference facility.

There are plenty of staff at Stuttgart Airport to help and assist passengers including porters, information and security staff. There is a central information and help desk manned by multi-lingual staff on level three of Terminal 1 and another, smaller information desk on level three of Terminal 4. The information desks are open everyday from 05:00 to 23:30. In addition, there are information pillars in all terminals which have courtesy telephones connecting passengers to the information desks.

Shops, Duty-Free and Retail Outlets


There are a wide variety of shops and retail outlets throughout the airport. These include tobacconists, magazine and book shops, clothing and fashion outlets, a mobile phone shop, a hairdresser and a pharmacy. There are duty-free shops at terminals 1 and 3 on level three and in Terminal 4 on level two.

Bars, Cafés and Restaurants


There are a wide selection of restaurants, bars, cafés and fast-food outlets to be found throughout Stuttgart Airport. Restaurants include the Top Air gourmet restaurant in Terminal 1 and the Sea Food Trattoria and the Panorama Restaurant, both in Terminal 3. Cafés include Leysieffer Café in Terminal 2 and Central Café in Terminal 3. Bars include the Welcome Bar and the Biergarten, both in Terminal 3. There is also a Burger King in Terminal 1.

Currency Exchange


There are two branches of Reisebank at the airport, both offering bureau de change facilities. They are located in Terminal 1 on level two and in Terminal 3 on level three. Opening hours are from Monday to Saturday, 08:00 to 20:00 and on Sundays from 08:30 to 20:00. There are ATM machines in Terminal 1 on levels two and three and in Terminal 4 on level three. Kurz Aviation Service (tel: +49 711 948 3482) and The Atrium Conference and Banqueting Centre (tel: +49 711 948 2700) in the General Aviation Terminal and Terminal 1 respectively, offer business facilities and conference rooms which can hold up to 400 people.

Disabled Facilities


Stuttgart Airport provides disabled passengers with a wide selection of facilities. These include ramps, disabled toilets, wheelchair-accessible telephones and special, variable speed electronic revolving doors. Disabled travellers can receive free assistance from airlines and travel agents provided they arrange it in advance. There are disabled car parking spaces located on the ground floor close to the entrance in all the car parks and Europcar rent out specially modified cars for disabled drivers; reservations must be made in advance.
